Non-Profit Executive Board Provides Leadership and Organization Sustainability
For over seventy-five years, Box 15, Inc. has maintained a supportive presence for firefighters in Central Ohio's Franklin County, Delaware County and Fairfield County. Box 15, Inc. boasts a proud track record of never missing a fire dispatch. All 365 days a year, their volunteers stand ready to respond when their smart phones sound the dispatch alarm to respond. Their commitment is to provide rehabilitation services to firefighters.
In the fire service, rehabilitation provides essential nutrients and liquids for the re-hydration of exhausted firefighters, as well as assisting them return to normal "core" body temperatures. Mandated by NFPA-1584, rehabilitation has become an essential function within the fire ground operation.
Box 15, Inc. also responds for special duty assignments, haz-mat runs, prolonged police situations, and other long term incidents.
Meet The Executive Board
The Box 15, Inc. Executive Board consists of the President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary and two Trustees, that are elected by members of the organization. Also on the Executive Board is the most recent Past President. All members on the Executive Board are non-compensated volunteers within the organization. In addition to leadership responsibilities for the organization, the Executive Board is actively involved in responding to active fire scenes.
President - Anthony J
Anthony joined Box 15 in 2019 as a responder for the organization. He has filled the roles of Secretary, Vice President, and for 2025, President.
Anthony sought out Box 15 as a way to continue to give back to the first responder community. As an active-duty firefighter himself, and the father of two firefighters, he understands the importance of rehabilitation on the fireground.
He knows firsthand the refreshing feeling of a hot cup of coffee or ice-cold water and feels honored to be able to do that for our public safety personnel in Central Ohio.
Vice President - Michael F
Michael joined Box15 in 2019. He started as a fire scene responder and over the years, served as Trustee and is currently the Vice President of the organization.
Michael joined Box15 because he always wanted to be a firefighter and never was able to fulfill that dream. He later determined that there was no better way to give back and still be involved than to take care of firefighter brothers.
In his previous life he was an On Air Radio Personality at WNCI 97.9. He's married to Jennifer, who is also a member of Box15. They both met while serving the Box 15 organization.
Treasurer - Chris M
Chris started with Box 15 in 2003 and in that time he spent several years as a Trustee and the last five years as Treasurer.
Chris is very proud of Box 15's seventy-five-year history serving Central Ohio, and how the organization continues to evolve and expand the services provided.
Secretary - Jennifer F
Jennifer joined Box 15 in 2022 as a responder for the organization. She has filled the role of Secretary since 2024.
Jennifer first sought out Box 15 in 2021 after I saw a social media post from Box 15 that had a photo that tagged one of her brothers, who is a Columbus Firefighter. As Jennifer researched to learn more about Box 15, she quickly realized that it is an organization that she wanted to be a part of.
As a sister of two firefighters in Columbus, and many friends that are first responders in Cental Ohio, she felt very honored to serve those who take care of the public. She's married to Michael, who is also a member of Box 15. They both met while serving the Box 15 organization.
Trustee - Pat M
Pat joined Box 15 in 2019. He was first trained to become a Rehabilitation Specialist. Since then, he has served on the Executive Board of Directors as Secretary, Vice President and Trustee. Pat has also been involved in fundraising as well as the Truck Committee Chairman.
As a former firefighter of 17 years, Pat has personally experienced the toll of extreme heat, smoke and the weight of the gear needed to do the job.
He enjoys the opportunity to give back to fellow firefighters at, both, working fire scenes and live fire trainings.
Trustee -Tom K
Tom joined Box 15 in 2014 as a way to give back to the first responders who've dedicated their lives to serving our community. Prior to being elected to the position of Trustee in early 2024, he served as Secretary for 3 years. Additional duty assignments include IT Committee, Social Media Manager, and PIO. Tom is among the organization's longest serving Active Members.
Outside of Box 15, Tom is employed full time as an IT professional, with decades of experience in varying technical roles. In his free time, he often enjoys working out, hanging out with his dogs, and working on neverending projects around the house.
Bob Hess has been part of Box 15 since 2004, and has served multiple elected terms as Trustee, Secretary, Vice President, and three terms as Box 15 President. He currently serves as Past President, Box 15 historian, and as Box 15’s representative on the Board of the Central Ohio Fire Museum & Learning Center.
Prior to retirement, Bob served on the front lines as a Firefighter/Paramedic with the Truro Township Fire Department and a Dispatcher with the Metropolitan Emergency Communication Center. Over the years he also served on 3 area Mobile I.C.U. teams
Bob is a long time resident of Reynoldsburg with his wife Marty.
